The Directorate of History - Air Force conducts an oral history program aimed at capturing the experience of serving and retired members of the RAAF for applied history purposes.
Subjects interviewed under the program include:
- senior figures and leaders, such as ex-Chiefs of Air Force
- personnel returned from recent operational deployments overseas, to collect notable experiences and lessons learnt
- representative members with knowledge of events and developments within specialised areas of RAAF activity, such as engineers, or simulation
To alert serious researchers to the scale and diversity of material available as products of the oral history program, Snippets (edited extracts from selected interviews) and historical summaries are presented below.
